The battery capacity (kW) should match the total backup requirements for your home appliances. To determine the appropriate size, consider the following:

1. The maximum load power (kW) listed on your utility bill for whole-home backup.
2. The total capacity (kW) of your home appliances that require backup.
3. The maximum Locked Rotor Amperage (LRA) rating of motor loads, such as air conditioners and swimming pool pumps.
4. The amount of time you want the batteries to supply backup power.
