NSW Battery
Rebate Overview
The NSW Government has announced a new battery rebate program for homeowners and small businesses under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), which begins on November 1, 2024.
This initiative is designed to make energy storage more affordable while enhancing grid stability.
There are two key components within the program:
BESS1: Covers new battery installations.
BESS2: Focuses on connecting batteries (either new or existing) to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).
NSW Battery Rebate Criteria
The rebate program applies to batteries that meet specific criteria. The FranklinWH battery energy storage system (BESS) meets all eligibility requirements for the NSW rebate. Contact your installers to unlock the rebate!
How Many PRCs are Created?
PRCs are tradable certificates under the PDRS, with each PRC representing 0.1 kW of reduced peak demand.
Our PRC Battery Rebate Calculator shows how many PRCs can be created and rebate available for each FranklinWH battery based on the usable capacity and if it is connected to a VPP.
