HECO offers a Smart Renewable Energy program (also known as Smart DER), 

1. Smart Renewable Energy Export (as of SDE). Starting on Oct. 1, 2024, Customer Grid-Supply, Customer Grid-Supply Plus, and Smart Export will be transitioned to the Smart Renewable Energy Export program seven years after their initial contract date.
2. Smart Renewable Energy Non-Export (as of SDN). Customer Self-Supply customers will be given the option to transition to the Smart Renewable Energy Non-Export program.
3. Option Bring Your Own Device (as of BYOD)
4. NEM and NEM+ customers are not required to transition to the new Smart Renewable Energy programs.
