Go Off-Grid disconnects your home from the local electrical grid, simulating a grid outage. Your solar production will be prioritized to power your home and then charge your FranklinWH system. With the ability to disconnect using the FranklinWH App, your system provides you with direct control of your home energy ecosystem, increasing your energy independence and security.
How It Works
Once you activate Go Off-Grid, your system disconnects from the grid. This does not open or close breakers or disconnect your service. Your FranklinWH system will solely use solar power and energy stored in your aPower battery to power your home. This allows you to become familiar with how your system behaves during an outage. Your system will reconnect to the grid when you reconnect through the app, your aPower battery runs out of energy, or your aPower battery is unable to support your essential loads while off-grid. Although the duration of grid outages may vary, there are best practices you can follow to extend the backup duration of your FranklinWH system.
